Time and size are still wrong for incremental images-numbers are for full image. Still doesn't see my ALPS pointer.

My Build 774 doesn`t create a bootable CD. It just freezes my PC without doing anything.

Whats about this software? Every Build creates new bugso_O?

This seems to be a problem with various hard disk controllers. Thought those issues would have been licked with this release. What are the specifics of your system?

Scopaceitc or anyone... is this official release working like the special 770/772, i.e. is our Si3112a Raid0 stuff being detected/restoring correctly - I await the first guinea-pigs :)

    Thanks, Fedorov.

Updated from Build 771 to Build 774 today.

    1. Create Boot CD - no problem.

    2. Create image in Windows mode to 2nd hard drive - no problem.

    3. Create image in Windows mode direct to DVD+RW (Nero InCD loaded) - no problem

    4. Boot from Rescue CD - no problem other than error message popped up momentarily whilst Acronis was loading. Error read as follows:

Medley RAID (08:10): Error reading metedata (lba=15630148:cool:

Has anyone else come across this?

    5. Create image in Boot Recue mode - no problem

    6. Restore active partition in Boot Rescue mode - no problem

I believe that the error simply means that you are using Sata drives in a non-raid mode. (It mainly applies to the SI 3112 Sata controller, but a few less common controlers will also generate this error) As such, it would have been nice if it was suppressed. However, it's a small price to pay if it makes our raid-enabled friends happy by working with their arrays.

Build 774 works great with my Promise 378/376 RAID 0. First software I've seen that does.

Curious if they have updated the 5th element download to build 774, or still stuck on 763. Seems like a simple thing to fix. It would prevent a lot of dismay to the uninitiated that just want a program that works without wasting their lives in a support forum...

Thanks for the info beenthereb4. I'm happily ignoring the error message and if that's all there is to it then, as you say, it's a small price to pay for improved compatibilty for RAID enabled users.

It's not clear if Acronis Support are still monitoring this Forum so, in case they're not, I'll email a bug report to them.

    UPDATE

Bug report forwarded to support@acronis.com on 12/10/04.
Holding response received on same day. Support Ticket No #153611
Report.txt file forwarded to support@acronis.com as requested on 14/10/04

As of the 17/10/04, I'm still awaiting an answer.

    Regards

Happy to see the renewed interest and/or staffing to provide adequate support. I think we are all noticing a renewed momentum within Acronis.

Andrew, could you comment on any new changes or additions to the support team?

I still can not verify or restore an image from DVD. I'm not sure if this is a TI problem or a Roxio/TI interaction Problem o_O

This by far is one of the best products out on the market.

It's simplicity and ease is something to be admired and the fact that the company visit's these forums show they care a great deal in there products.

I find this as easy to use as tieing up my shoe laces and goes right up there with GoBack in its simplicity.

I commend a company who makes great powerful yet extremely easy to use products who all even the most mundane can use.

Just installed b774 yesterday. With all the "bad press" here I was a little concerned.

    1. Created Boot CD (2 copies: one with initial install, the second later): No problem

    2. Created image of primary drive (two partitions - Dell has that small FAT partition with the diagnostics at the beginning) under Windows to external Maxtor hard drive with Firewire connection: No problem

    3. Verified Image under Windows: No problem

    4. Booted with Rescue CD: No problem

    5. Verified Image again using boot CD: No problem
(Took about 3 times longer than under Windows)

    6. Have not restored yet. Have a new hard drive to which to do try it on. Will report back.

    7. No problem with my Alps Touchpad.

Build 774 doesn't recognize Iomega REV drive

I had written Acronis a couple months ago requesting support for the new Iomega REV drives. This build specifically mentions the added support for this drive, yet I still cannot get TrueImage to recognize my REV drive. It is an external USB 2.0 drive rather than the internal, but I don't see why this would pose a problem.

I tried it today with a brand new SATA Disk and a new SATA3112-150R.
Windows TI works without visible problems. This does include copying the boot partition on the new drive.

Boot CD created OK. But on boot it just hangs :doubt:
The Linux driver seams not to do it yet for my config.

Error that appears when executing /bin/insmod sata_sil is:
    "spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7."

When taking off the SATA cable from the disk everything is fine, including detection of SATA controller.

Has anyone an idea how to get it working?

    - Elitegroup K7S5A
    - Athlon XP 2400+
    - 200GB SATA on SiI 3112 (non-RAID mode)
    - 60GB ATA on SIS735 primary master
    - 120GB ATA on SIS735 primary slave
    - DVD ROM on SIS735 secondary master
    - DVD R/RW on SIS735 secondary slave

    FURTHER UPDATE

Received a response from Support today who requested that I carry out further checks using a "safe" version of the Rescue Disk and report back. This I've done.

As a follow-up on my previous post, I finally was able to do a restore. I purchased a second hard drive for my Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop which was almost identical to my original hard drive. As I said above, I was able to create an image (under Windows) to my Maxtor external drive (using a Firewire connection). Today I pulled out the old drive and inserted the new one. I then booted up using the "Rescue" CD. I proceeded to run a "Restore" of the original image to the new disk (as I mentioned above there were two partitions on my old drive). It took about 30 min to complete the restore of about 18gb. Once completed, I pulled out the CD, exited TI, and the computer rebooted nicely into Windows. I am happy.
