TrueImage 8.0 and Drive Cleanser Offer

As I am on Acronis' mailing list , I received an email today offering TI 8 and Drive Cleanser for 39.99. Checking out the purchase options, it adds an extended download option of 4.95 for each product.

Extended download
This option costs USD 4.95 in addition to the product price.
We offer the "extended download" function as a supplement to this product, which is delivered to you by download from our server. This option enables you to download the electronic version of this product again at a later time from the Customer Care Center under "My account".

As I normally save my downloads to my hard drive, install from the hard drive and eventually copy them off to a CD, what benefit is there for purchasing this option?

If you have an abiity to store the download on the CD there is no need in this option.

Thanks. Thats what I thought.

 

Its lets you download it from digitalriver up to 2 years after you bought it. Unless Acronis go belly-up, it seems to be useless, as you can just download the latest version from acronis without even logging in.
