Hi everyone i have my laptop hdd encrypted with Truecrypt . Yesterday when starting i did not get the usual truecrypt pasword sccreen but windows boot loader started if let it run it tells me that it can not repare it self and thats it. I took the hdd outside to decrypt the volume but it says that truecrypt can not decrypt the drive as it is broken.

How can i fix the boot loader when the drive is encrypted ?
or how can i decrypt the drive ?

    Regards
    Jaan

Do you have the TC rescue disk from when you created the drive? Hopefully yes. First insert the rescue CD and simply attempt to mount the OS using the bootloader on the rescue disk. Don't bother restoring the bootloader to the hard drive at this point, simply boot directly from the rescue media. Its simple to do IF your drive is still intact. I am suspecting you took a windows update and windows is notorious for breaking the TC bootloader.

If the OS mounts using this simple method we can go from there.
