    Hi,
i used on Windows chkdsk clean with the wrong usb memory stick (with only one partition 1Gb).
it was recommended chkdsk repair in one forum which i aborted after a few seconds.

I used TrueCrypt to encrypt this partition. I don't have any backup of the header file.
    I tried this out:
    • testcrypt
    • testdisk 7.0
    • photorec
I am not sure about geometry which i should set for testdisk and photorec. i am looking for it right now.
I am trying to use Linux and Windows OS to fix this problem.

    What i achieved:
    1. i created an image with dd on Linux
    2. i am working only with this copy
    3. if i try 3 times in the row my password the usb stick is mounted on Windows PC. TrueCrypt will use the backup header
    4. But i cannot open the partition in windows explorer
      1. i tried testdisk and photorec
      2. i tried to formate and than to recover
i cannot see anything. i am looking for some text files (*.txt)
    What shall i do?

    THANK YOU!

Try it yourself first to understand what you want to do.
And if there is any problem, please submit a specific question.

@kaljukass thank you for the replay

i'd like to recover my data
    specific question:
    1. Did i miss something with testdisk and photorec? i saw some threads here and did the same. but i cannot recover anything
    2. Do you know another methods?
    3. how can i recover raw partition.
I used also Hex editor to find the beginning and the end of the block. But i couldn't find a header or both headers are broken.

    Hi,
can i be sure that i've mounted correctly the partition as image in TrueCrypt.?
As described in the first post "What i achieved:..."
And then try testDisk out with different geometry?
    Thank you!
