    Hello,

Which one would be better to encrypt a drive or system - Truecrypt or BitLocker? I mean Truecrypt has no support for Win 8 and BitLocker is built-in. Also is it better to use other encryption method than AES like Serpent in Truecrypt? What is the difference in speed on average between AES and others?

Any advice and explanation would be heartily welcomed.

    Best Wishes,

Some people don´t like BitLocker because "if you use it, you have to trust MS". But the advantage is that it is built-in, and this avoids the problems that occur when Windows try to "repair" partitions encrypted with TC. Problems derived thereof have been discussed extensively in this forum.

Unless you do not trust Bitlocker for any reason, I believe it's much better (meaning more reliable and more usable) than TC.
Also TC is not released for W8, yet. Then you try it at your own risk..
