True Image v8 - restore problem

Hello

I have just purchased a new dell dimension 3100 which has a SATA drive.
When I boot from the restore cd the TI app loads but my mouse and keyboard do not work, and hence I am unable to perform the restore.

Does anyone know why?

Is it something to do with the version of TI or the hardware on my dell, since v8 works fine on my older machines?

Those items are probably usb. True Image has/had problems handling those, including usb hubs and also wireless devices. I don't know if later versions overcame those limitations since I use standard devices.

You might try the parameter "usbmouse=off" the same way as detailed for (acpi=off noapic) in Please Read Before You Post sticky.

If version 8 does not display a selection screen (Full, Safe, Windows) on booting from Rescue CD you should press F11 soon after the booting from CD starts.
