    Could someone tell me the difference between the standard TI 8 and the one given away in PCW this month (aka Personal Edition)?

    The blurb in the magazien says that the differences will be told to me afte rinstalling the program but it doesn't really - just encourages me to upgrade!

    I am not against upgrading - I would just like to know hwta I'm going to get for my exta money.

    Many thanks,

    Ian

    Yes, I'd like to know too. What are the differences - I can't find anything about the 'personal/commercial' versions on here.

    It'll be more up to date.
    It'll have less bugs.
    It'll support more hardware - SATA Drives etc

    I found the Personal Edition didn't support SATA drives when using the Boot CD. Tried the trial, it worked ok, paid £20 and got the upgrade.

    If in doubt - try the trial for TI 8.

    I found out that despite the misleading copy in PCW magazine, the personal edition doesn't do incremental backups, and it doesn't have the scheduler either.

    I have since bought TI8 as I really wanted the incremental backup.

    (sounds like I should stick with 6.0 and not rush out and by a copy PCW)

    So, what would the differences be between v6 and v8 personal edition?

    Hello Daryl,

    Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    The main differences between Acronis True Image 8.0 and Acronis TrueImage 8.0 Personal are:

    1. Personal version doesn't support incremental images;
    2. Personal version doesn't support image storing on network;
    3. There are no updates for personal versions;
    4. There is no scheduling in personal version;
    5. Personal version doesn't have the "Add new hard drive" and "Disk Clone" wizard.

    Thank you.
