I am trialling True Image as a back up, set up the Secure Zone on my second disk and when I went to check the result in Partition Magic have a "Bad" disk.

True Image shows all OK, can I still use Partition Magic with True Image?

    WinXP; few skills!

I would guess that Partition Magic isn't recognizing the ASZ and is thinking it's an error.

It might help if you posted the version of Partition Magic you're using.

Does the hard disk show up correctly in Windows Disk Management?

Do any errors show up if you run chkdsk on your partition(s)?

In any case, I wouldn'd use any third-party tools to make any changes to the ASZ. Only use True Image to mange the ASZ.

I have a secure zone on my second disk. In Partition Magic V8 it shows up as partition type BC whatever that means. TI and PM can quite happily co-exist on the same computer but all management of the SZ should be done via the TI wizards because PM could screw up the zone.

    Hello rogaine,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please note that as it was mentioned Acronis Secure Zone special hidden protected partition on the hard disk drive created with Acronis True Image. Therefore, Partition Magic may not recognize it properly.

If would like to make sure that Acronis Secure Zone was created correctly you could create Acronis Report as it is described in Acronis Help Post and submit a request for technical support. We will investigate it and let you know the results. This utility would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

    Thank you.
