Trojans on pc

I have followed instructions on here to attempt to remove trojans from my pc. I have a few and have downloaded Ad-aware 6 and ran it, then ran Hijackthis and have attached the below log....

Run HijackThis again, push Scan and place a check mark next to the following items using your mouse.
Next, close all browser Windows, and push the 'Fix checked' button in HijackThis

Empty the TIF (Temporary Internet Files)
To do so use Control Panel > Internet Options(or right click the IE icon on the desktop and choose Properties)
Click Delete Files on the General Tab - place a check in the Delete all offline content box and then press OK

Delete all the files in (and any subfolders of) the C:\Windows\Temp\ folder

Uninstall MyWay MySearch
Uninstall Sky Alerts


Reboot

Delete the C:\Program Files\Common files\updmgr\ folder

Run Adaware again

Reboot

Post a fresh log

 

I have followed the instructions. I was unable to work out how to uninstall Myway from the pc anywhere.. I couldn't find it. Ho w do I retrieve the log as before?

To post the scan log from HijackThis
Run HijackThis by double clicking on it - Press Scan - the Scan button changes to a Save Log button
Save it, and then copy and paste the entire log here.

 

hi,

I ran hijack this again and will attach the below.. AVG show's no trojan's yet I get a message pop up telling me that I have WINTRIM.AD trojan on my pc... and its going very slowly, restarting itself etc that it wasn't doing before... its a 3000ghz with 512 ram and is going slower than my nanny!!

It would have been nice if you told me where AVG? was finding it
If it was in the restore folder you will need to reset your restore points

Let's do this

First you seem to be running 2 AntiVirus programs.
If your subscription for norton has expired and you are using AVG as your main AV - open NortonAV and set it so that it does NOT scan in realtime as files are opened and saved to disk etc.
(i'd set it to not autostart as well)
If it's the other way around, and NAV is your main, then set AVG not to scan automatically

Close IE and check and fix these in HijackThis

Delete all the files in (and any subfolders of) the C:\Windows\Temp\ folder

Set your Explorer up using the info in this link so that hidden and System files are visible
Also Uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" box

Reboot to SAFE mode
How to start the computer in Safe mode

Delete the following folder(s) completely
C:\Program Files\MyWay\
C:\Program Files\Kazaa Hack\


If your Antivirus program works in safe mode (norton I know does) -- do a scan while still in SAFE mode

Reboot normally

Download Spybot - Search and Destroy
After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.
Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and after SpyBotSD has completed it's scan push the 'Fix checked' button for all that it has automatically selected.

I've taken soundman out - if you trust it (it's unusual but possible that it's infected) then leave that one out of my list in HJT
If you do take it out with HJT - it's functions are still available through Control Panel

If the file in question for WINTRIM.AD is C:\Windows\System32\ia.dll -- delete that while you are in SAFE mode

If still no satisfaction download LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm - unzip it - run it and exit with the finished button rather than the X

After that try kazaabegone form the bottom of http://www.spywareinfoforum.com/~merijn/downloads.html

Ok, thanks for the above. Have tried that and speed seems to have picked up. It messed my kazaa up so I downloaded it again and diet k.

I didn't realise that kazaa was evil and contained trojans... I have removed again and done various clean ups again. I now seem to have one left which is that wintrim.ad which seems to be in C:\System Volume Information\Restore folder. I gather it would be wise to not use kazaa from now on?

It's pretty tough to avoid the trojans floating around on kazaa (tho' it is possible)
Some of us have stopped answering when we see it present in the log, just because it is such a pain, and the users tend to be less than careful and back soon anyway

The C:\System Volume Information\Restore issue can be fixed by turning System Restore off for a boot and then back on to create a fresh restore point
