Tons of data in here https://blog.elcomsoft.com/2019/01/life-after-trim-using-factory-access-mode-for-imaging-ssd-drives * How to enable TRIM on your Windows 10 PC When TRIM isn't enabled on Windows 10, you need to do the following: Command Prompt (Admin) Type the following command and press Enter: fsutil behavior set DisableDeleteNotify 0
How often should TRIM be used on an SSD? Once a day, once every 2-3 days, after large write operations, is there an optimal amount?
Once a week is enough for most consumers and that's why in most Gnu/Linux distributions fstrim is invoked once in a week. Some Linux filesystems support continous TRIM meaning every time something is deleted from filesystem TRIM command is issued immediately after that.
@ pegas Thanks for the link Installed it yesterday, with top results Highly recommended As always though, research first if you don't know what they all do Also, have a look in here for more tips etc https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...mate-performance-power-plan-in-win-10.415195/
The built in drive optimizer in Windows 10 should already do this unless it has been disabled. https://www.howtogeek.com/256859/dont-waste-time-optimizing-your-ssd-windows-knows-what-its-doing/
@ Triple Helix Thanks for the Tweak SSD link * This showed i acheived around 75%, but with SSD Fresh i got it to 100% * Go figure LOL @ xxJackxx If that's so, i wonder why those apps don't show that windows itself has optimised the drive ?
It probably depends on the app and how it tracks that info. I have used the Windows utility and the results were reflected in the Intel SSD Toolbox.
@CloneRanger You're welcome. I have been using this tool since the very first SSD on my machines and I pretty like it. It is a install-tweak-forget tool what is nice. JFYI, I have all tweaks enabled except indexing because I often use searching, especially among mails.
