    Hi,

I recommended ESET NOD32 Antivirus and ESET Smart Security to my friend because I've found them to be great.

He downloaded and installed a trial for ESS. He has had a couple of minor problems with it, which he was able to resolve.

Well, when he phoned me yesterday, he said that now he can't update it because it keeps telling him that he has an invalid username/password when he runs an update. His virus definitions are getting old now... he still has more than 2 weeks of his trial period left too.

He might switch to F-Prot or BitDefender because of the issues he's having and recently had with ESS.

How can this update issue be resolved?

    Thanks!

I suggest you get him to remove the trial and install the beta, it's far superior and in my opinion, just as stable.

    Hi,

I will mention it to him. Do you think that a 'repair' install will fix it?

    I doubt it.

Do you think he should just buy it then? (If he wants to)?

Probably, or just use the beta for free.
