Installed the trial version true image after stopping Norton. All went well untill I followed instructions to reboot. When the pc came out of boot it was in restore.
May be that i was a bit startled to see recover and clicked the wrong button, but my pc did a restore back to store bought. did save most of added apps but lost updates and things like email, etc. have all back together but am a bit
afraid to try again . Help !!

I'm sure it's not Acronis True Image that brought your computer back to "store bought state". You must have a computer with a "restore to store bought state" partition. You must have accidently activated this restore feature.

    Hello arlamb,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

I would agree with dld as Acronis True Image can restore the system to the moment of image creation. And most likely you have activated the built-in computer recovery facility.

We can recommend you to find the detailed instructions on how to use Acronis True Image 9.0 Home in the respective User's Guide. You may also find Acronis True Image 9.0 Home FAQ page, Acronis Public Knowledge Base and this article providing the illustrated instructions on Acronis True Image 9.0 Home installation and usage useful.

If you have any further questions concerning Acronis software, please feel free to submit a request for technical support or post any of them on this forum. We will certainly try to help you in resolving any issues.

    Thank you.
