Trial of KAV 5 or 6?

I am in the process of trialing a couple of AVs to replace Bit Defender, maybe.

Currently I have NOD on my machine. In a couple of weeks I want to trial KAV.
I have an impression that the new version 6 will be out soon, and in a sense I hate to trial a version that is going to be replaced with improvements.

Is there a target date for KAV 6 that anyone here is aware of?

No official date, but i would be surpriced if it (6.0) were not released two weeks from now.

NOW, that is what I call "Up to date."

I mailed them with the question that although I had already requested a 30 day trial, if I could wait and trial V6. Since I read that it is lighter that would be an important criterion for me.

I'll see what they say, but I WON'T post the email. See I do learn, albeit slowly.

Jerry, you don't have to request a trial, you simply download it when 6.0 is released:http://www.kaspersky.com/trials, i would wait for 6.0 too, it's better in every respect.

I agree. It's definitely lighter and faster than v 5.

i've downloaded the version ( which in my opinion has released) at i updated it yesterday it had 181000 signatures, so much more then in the newest av-comparative...thats quiet amazing i think

 

No, the final version is not yet released. The newest beta is v6.0.0.297c released yesterday.
