Is Trendmicro and ikarus the same AV company with different names?

I don't believe so. I think TrendMicro is a Japanese company and Ikarus is European. Unless I am mistaken or there was a recent buyout that I am unaware of.

No they are different companies. Trend's products are decent, while Ikarus is terrible. I'm curious as to why you thought they were the same company.
