This adware resolves undetermined and non-existing URLs entered in a browser address bar to its affiliated Web sites, which are usually its sponsors. It also redirects browsers to pages with new domain name extensions with NEW.net's domain. It also displays pop-up advertisements.

It registers itself as a Browser Helper Object (BHO) to enable its automatic execution whenever an Internet Explorer window is opened.
