    Hi Guys,

I previously used 'OpenDNS' but switched to TreeWalk, seems very good. A companion program 'plugin' works with TreeWalk ver 8.21, Confetch.

    See: http://confetch.com/cfpro.htm

sounds like say goodbye to all ad-blockers, host file maintenance, and more, all done; at the router level by adding lists, to routers block list.

Does anyone have experience with TreeWalk/Confetch combo?

Also I'm looking for router config. using treewalk, my machine is a stand alone XPSP2 Home machie

    Thanks & Take Care
    Rico

I'd check what performance drop this plug-in may introduce.
    OpenDNS has built-in blacklists too.

    Hi Lucas,

Thanks for the reply! I seem to remember there is an advantage to using TreeWalk instead of OpenDNS. Something about the cache or?

    Take Care

Some home-grade routers have the option to cache DNS lookups. Then, with DNS forwarding, the router acts as a man in the middle between the hosts on your home network and the DNS servers.

I switched back to TW after using Open DNS for a month, find TW far faster, wouldn't recommend using ConFetch as the memory use goes up quite big but if you don't mind that, ConFetch is fine, I would rather use AdBlock and urlfilter.ini instead.
