WTheres no need just delete cookies in IE and Ffifox, when done with using the net. As if by magic all the cookies are gone.

Websites that install tracking cookies only, don't belong in hosts files/restricted zones and people who put them there are paranoid and paranoid people, don't think in the right proportions anymore.
You also don't overload hosts files with cookie-websites, because LARGE hosts files are already a problem.
Use hosts files for websites that install adware/spyware on your computer.
Tracking cookies shouldn't be detected/removed by AS scanners either, they are supposed to detect/remove adware/spyware

Tracking cookies are harmless as file and you can read any tracking cookie with a text processor to check its contents and you can remove them very easily. What is so dangerous about tracking cookies to get so much attention ?

There are enough other solutions to get rid of cookies : browser settings, special cookie softwares and many other softwares manage cookies. Choice enough.
The choice of software is a bigger problem, than the tracking cookies itself, because typical users don't even know which software to choose anymore.
