Been doing Tracert a lot recently. The first hop in the chain between myself and whatever URL/IP I'm mapping always seems to be the same. Ideas as to how to alter routing tables from the end-user's end so that I'm not always sending data through the same IP/IPs? Just concerned about MITMs or logging.
Yes, the first hop is the router. So use another router. Or a pfSense VM. If you run a VPN service in the router or a pfSense VM, the first hop will be the VPN tunnel adapter of the router or pfSense VM. The second hop is the ISP. Using a VPN service, that will be its ISP. Or use another ISP via WiFi hotspot. With a long-range WiFi dongle, or better a high-power radio and parabolic antenna, you can hit WiFi hotspots at several km.
