No ... even though I would never choose Norton for even a single component of my multy-layered security ...

Do I sense a "bias" in many of the posters in these otherwise excellent Wilders forums ... no comment.

I'm quite surprised by TrendMicro placing so high and Eset placing so low, go figure.

    Thanks.

VERY bad customer service, although I must admit its been a while to remember all the details. Hello, all companies out there, former customers have memories and will not return it they've been screwed in the past; you may have improved things but how do you prove that to customers that you have hurt. And if I'm asked to "elaborate why", its simply too complicated and long ago to remember all those details ... but I do remember the frustration and being ignored.

Ok, fair enough, to dislike company is one thing but the actuall product is really good, but yes i agree if i had experience similar to yours would probably feel same, must be honest there.

Except for the article's formatting and dateline, nothing has changed. The individual product reviews are still from last November and January. The star ratings and overall rankings haven't changed at all. Here's the former article:

Just a pure piece of rubbish!

I would not feel so all alone, Acadia.
There are plenty of souls out there who have hit a brick wall with a particular company
(for me, it's Symantec, like it is with you)
and can't bring themselves to ever return.
I don't care if they have the Best Software on Planet Earth. If that's the case, then I'll never have the best. :)
From time to time, I ask myself if I'm over it, but I'm not.
The closest I've come is to use NortonDNS as an alt DNS service behind ClearCloud DNS. Not alot can go wrong there, and I don't need to ever deal with Symantec tech support, which for all I know may be stellar today, but it was once the absolute very bottom of the heap.
A great many people never forget, and for those folks who think we are only hurting ourselves, WRONG. It feels great to keep a promise I made to myself.
    ;)

Did you try Norton in recent years ? It is a superb antivirus software and I have to say that it is a bit annoying to see people bashing Norton based on past experiences. ( no , i am not a Symantec user neither a fanboy )

Trend Micro , Avira and Eset Nod32 arent in the right place in this rank

As opposed to bashing them based on future experiences? ;)
C'mon man, your annoyance (I'm guessing it's minor)
doesn't begin to compare to the frustrations some of us have experienced,
so try a little empathy.
    Thanks

"Did you try Norton in recent years ? "
    Context please :D , recent years = 2009 , 2010 , 2011 versions . People are too used to the nightmare version aka 2006.

My annoyance ... To say the truth is very very minor , it is just a way of talk.
Empathy cant erase past frustrations , but look to the present can , so just give Symantec a chance ;)
