I installed SpywareBlaster. Then, I uninstalled it because I had connectivity problems. Now, I have a toolbar that is causing problems. IE 6 SP0 view > toolbars > thre is an unlabeled item, with a check mark. If I click on the area, the check mark does not go away. How do I get rid of this toolbar? Thanks. em
Hi edx_mtn, and welcome to the forum. Since SpywareBlaster does not install a toolbar of any kind, this problem is not related to SpywareBlaster, so I have moved your thread over into our Privacy Problems forum. If this is a toolbar that you did not knowingly install yourself with another program, then it may have been installed silently by malware. If you do not have an anti-spyware program already, then you can download, install and bring up to-date one of the following two anti-spyware programs (using both is also recommended and they work well together) and do a scan with them: Ad-Aware SE Personal Spybot Search&Destroy If, for some reason the anti-spyware programs cannot remove the toolbar, then followup with posting a HijackThis log at one of the forums that offer log analysis listed in this link: A-SAP. The two bigger forums for HijackThis log processing, (meaning they process more log threads each day than most others) are: SpywareInfo.com and CastleCops.com. Be sure to read their posting policy before posting a log. Let us know how it turns out. Regards, snap
My mistake. It disappeared when I uninstalled Cox's spyware blocker. ~removed hijackthis log - snap~ em
Hi edx_mtn, I apologize if my instructions for posting a hijackthis log wasn't clear, but we no longer do Hijackthis log review here at Wilders, so I have removed the log you posted. See this Announcement. In my previous post I have listed the links to CastleCops and SpywareInfo, which is where you can post a log for analysis and one of the Hijackthis Experts will help you clean your system. Regards, snap
Hi em, No apology necessary. I'm glad you were able to identify the toolbar. Thank you for posting back and letting us know. Regards, snap
