I have uninstalled McAfee from my fathers PC and decided to let him try a 1 month trial of Bitdefender Pro 9, as personally I think that BD Pro 9 is a better product and is up there with NOD32, KAV and F-Secure. He's been using McAfee for the past 8 yrs and I now think its time for a change to something different.

Now my Q here is should I disable his Windows XP Firewall or leave it enabled, as the BD Pro 9 also has a firewall in it as well. I have read that by rights there shouldnt be two software firewalls running but only one.

    What are your thoughts ?

My experience with installing 3th party firewalls is that Windows Firewall is deactivated automatically. If that doesn't happen deactivate it manually.
It's not a good idea to run two firewalls according my readings.
A hardware router and a firewall is a better and safer combination.
