After having used version 10 for a year now, I am wondering if it's worth upgrading. I have had problems with 10, first it not running on my PC (Intel 965p chipset) then it not running on my Laptop, (HP Pavillion dv6000, nForce 430, AMD Turion 64 X2) Have these problems been ironed out in version 11o_O?

A lot of problems have yet to be fixed in TI 11.

If TI 10 is working well for you then you're proably better off using it until the next build or two of 11 are released. You may actually lose hardware support by upgrading to 11, not to mention the many new bugs 11 introduced.

If you want to try 11, make sure to create a backup image of your drive using TI 10 before you install 11. That way you can easily restore your system back to using 10.

Version 10 build 4942 works on pc, but not laptop. Am wondering whether anyone has used either 10 or 11 on these laptops successfully?

Have you tried creating the bootable Rescue CD on the desktop and boot with it on the laptop?

11 is supposed to work with that chipset. However, there are a number of thngs that 11 Boot CD is supposed to work on and doesn't, build 8053 picked up a few more than the prior build but Arconis still has work to do. Also the progress bar/time remaining feature is woncky, at least on some machines. There are some other probs in 11.8053

E.g., on my machine, the 11 Boot CD will see the RAID if I chose to backup and even if I chose to select a backup to restore, but it won't see the RAID when I try to pick a target drive to receive a restore--a critical link in the backup /restore chain.

I'd at least wait until the next build comes out, hoping that 11 will then be esesntially finished, debugged, polished, and ready to be let out in public ;-)

You could always try the trial version and see how promising that looks, then restore your machine back to pre-11 state with your Bart disk.
