I've seen several posts about the DVD issue but it seems that most of us have missed the fact that TI 9 will provide:

    direct DVD writing support
fully automated scripting (for restore and creating)
    support for Windows 64bit

    Acronis has stated:

"We cannot say the precise date when we include these features (including a support for Windows 64bit). But we will certainly implement it in Acronis True Image 9.0 in the future build till the end of the year 2005."

    and

"if you have Acronis True Image 9.0 you can get all the updates for this version free of charge."

    See: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=98544

It look like Acronis has rushed out version 9 (to beat the soon to be released new version of Ghost) and had to leave out some important features which will soon be released as version 9 builds.

Perhaps Acronis should highlight the fact that these features are coming soon as free builds for TI 9. It might help some of us to see that there is some value in the upgrade from TI 8.

Ah that would account for why there are so many bugs - not a good way to build confidence.

just to note ghost 10 dont support x64 so its no better than TI9

i like true image better than any release of ghost, just cant wait for x64
support then it will leave symantec behind , (None of the new symantec 2006
    range supports x64)
