TI7 and fedora 3

I am new to forum, please bear with me.
Seems whenever I try to use my TI7 on a system there is a catch. Sure it works ok with windows on my home machine, but I want to back up my Fedora 3 pcHDTV home theater linux system. I read around here before trying it and it seems Fedora 3 cannot be backed up successfully with this product and ext3 filesystem etc. Please tell me if this is fixed, I want to clone my partitions to images or network drives before I break my multimedia box and have to spend hours rebuilding it. This is why I bought Acronis rather than try free solutions.
P.S. if there is a solution equal to pre Norton Ghost for imaging partitions, and there is no solution here, please advise.
