    Hi everybody

I'm new to this forum, so apologies in advance if I break any netiquette rules - please be gentle with me. ;)

As the title says, my problem centres around the TrueImage Deluxe Boot CD that I made when I first installed TI Deluxe from a PC Magazine cover disk. It is the full working version and I have registered my details with Acronis. However, now I come to use it I can't as the Boot CD doesn't work.

My tale of woe starts when I created an image of my PC as I was upgrading the 6GB HDD to an 80GB HDD. I created the Image onto CD (in fact 11 of them!!) and installed my new 80GB HDD.

I formatted the HDD and installed the TI Boot CD. The PC reads the CD in the drive and a splash screen appears saying it is loading TrueImage. I then get a black screen with the word Acronis in the top left hand corner with a flashing white square underneath that. After about 3 or 4 minutes, the Acronis wording disappears as does the cursor and I'm left with a black screen. It wont go any further than that.

The PC is an old PIII running at 800mhz with 256mb RAM. It came from ebay with Win XP Home pre-installed, but no recovery disks. I cannot therefore reinstall Windows from scratch as I have no cd and all of my documents and software are stored on the Image. I still have the old 6GB HDD with the O/S and docs still intact, but there's not enough room in the PC to have both HDDs installed at the same time.

Can anyone please tell me why the Boot CD isn't working and what I need to do to correct it?

    Many thanks

    Geoff

    Hello Geoff,

Thank you for choosing Acronis True Image (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/).

We regret to infor you that we do not support Acronis True Image Deluxe any longer because it is rather obsolete. You may purchase the upgrade at our on-line store http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/sales/upgrade/ If the problem remains with the upgrade (please do not forget to create new Acronis Bootable CD) please send a letter with the description to support@acronis.com and we will certainly help you.

    Thank you.
