    Once again the question.

Does TI 8.0 offer enhancements regarding the support for SATA??

So, I tried it and it seems to be the case, that SATA-Support is now better with TI 8.0.

I was able to clone a 160GB SATA disk (IDE2) with my system (only 25 GB used) to a 40GB IDE disk (IDE 1 Slave), which did not work before.

(Exkurs: The destination disk contained an old partition which obviously was deleted by TI 8.0.)

    BUT:

It worked only on the second trial.

When I tried it for the first time, TI 8.0 started, but reported at the very end of the copy process an internal error ("Copied more sectors than counted") and terminated itself.

As I mentioned the second try using the same disks, was then successful.

(Exkurs: Obviously the destination disk did then contain no old partition, because the old one was deleted on the first (unsuccessful) trial

This leaves a uncomfortable feeling of inconfidence!

I am using brandnew TI 8.0, Build 764.

    Best Regards

    Hello --

Well, the hardware compatibility is better in Acronis True Image 8.0.

As for your question about error - it is not a know issue, so if it happens again, please send me Acronis True Image log that can be created using the in-built option of the product.

    Thank you.
