    Hello all,
Following the advice of many posts on this forum, i decided to try out The "box Boot disk" and try to do non windows operations. just to see if it would "run" All went well. I could create an image, read all my images, do a recovery ( did not pull the trigger). Then i decided to try and "create" a back up "boot disk" as well. (just in case) Downloaded the latest Safe mode plug in, installed and off i went. That also went well until i tried to "X" out, (or under "operations" "EXIT") this did not go well! Upon doing so the PC switches to "black screen" one started with Some kind of code (not too familiar with DOS) a help screen with some commands, but was stuck there until i pulled the plug. The other screen (trying the 2nd time) gave the same but started with "SNP" and more of the same. If i boot the recovery disk in "safe mode" this does not happen, you are able to exit and the choose a normal windows boot. Seems that something is different when you "create a boot disk "that is not a problem in the "box disk"Has any one else seen this? regards PlainFred

    I could do that with Ti2009/build9615, Ti2009/build9646 and Ti11/build 8105.

    No problems.

    Hello MrMorse,
Thanks for a response, although not exactly the one i had hoped for. I will try one more time and create another "recovery disk" and see what happens. Even though ive done this twice before, im always hopeful! Don't understand this "bug" at all. as the box "recovery" disk works fine?! Regards PlainFred

Are the builds the exactly the same for the "box" version CD and the CD created using the Media Builder program?

It's not uncommon for Linux to fail in the way you mention when you exit. It seems to happen more on some computers than others.

    MudCrab,
Hello I purchased the "box" version before build 8101 and then updated to the new, when it was released (july 3, i think) In this last attempt all is still the same. you can "X" out in safe mode and proceed, but in "Full" if you "X" out you go into the land of "OZ" Regards PlainFred

If the "box" CD is an earlier build than 8,101, the compiled kernel is probably different and that is most likely the reason for the problem you're having. Errors on shutdown shouldn't cause a problem with using the program as any procedures have already finished at that point.

You could contact Acronis Support and submit your computer's information. They may be able to give you a build that works properly on your computer.
