    Hello,

I created backups with TI for many years without of any problem. Yesterday evening I got the error message "E000101F4: Error reading hard disk sector 17.508.589 on volume 1" (re-translated). I'm afraid I'll have to replace my hard disk (5 years old). How can I save the files created between the last backup and now? Click on "Ignore" or must I select and copy them manually?

By the way: I needed a lot of time to understand that Windows counts the volumes 0, 1, 2 ... but TI counts 1, 2, 3 ...

    Thank you for helping,

    Anselm

Try first "chkdsk n: /R" for every partition you have ('n' is the drive letter).

It needs a long time but do it...
(for using chkdsk for the bootpartition you have to type "Y" or "J" and restart the PC)

After that you can try to create an image once more.

Thank you! I did do that. Now CHKDSK doesn't show bad sectors anymore, but TI 11 still reports that "Error reading hard disk sector 17.508.589" when creating images. Do you have any idea why?

Today I'll get a new hard disk. Is there anything I should mind concerning the (ignored) sector problem when restoring the image?

By the way: Is your signature copyright protected? ;)

    Regards, Anselm

    Hello Oleg,
I got a new hard disk meanwhile, had no problem to restore the TI image and have no problems to create new TI backups. So I didn't try the tool you provided.

    Thank you,

    Anselm
