Thought I had a resource issue but figured it out.

    Just downloaded AVG AntiSpyware and installed...

    Running a scan and minimum processor usage was about 50% spiking up to 90%. System slowed to a crawl.

    Oops, never mind. It was Ad-Aware "Ad Watch" interfering. Turned that off and problem goes away.
