Hi I am probably doing something simple but will ask anyway I have twice downloaded PE Evaluation version - first time some while ago, then again today After PE is installed, and whether or not it is running, IE cannot connect to the web. I get the page cannot be found... Surely this isn't right Help please dilips
Hello dilips and welcome to the forum! If you evaluated PE time ago, you will get an evaluation day counter from the former install or if over 30 days it might not start at all anymore. Suppose you dd reboot after PE installation? Also download LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm and use that to remove unwanted entries from your LSP stack. It could be PE wants to be installed before your firewall but this we'll see soon enough. Do allow PE internet connection when asked by your firewall. What else is running on your system, which windows version do you have? Remember the dll belonging to PE runs always in the background, the GUI enables us to see what it found and has many functions for us to try.
What firewall are you using? Most Port Explorer connection problems seem to be related to not giving DCSWS2.DLL full access in your firewall.
