It is crazy. All it takes is an anonymous call without any proof and this does not apply just to swatting. This could never happen in most countries, because SWAT teams are not as easy to "order" as Uber.
Yes I agree. I can't imagine police in my country breaking in and shooting someone purely on a basis of anonymous call. There should be some safeguards implemented to prevent such incidents. Overall sad story...

We don't pay our LEOs enough. What I mean is most places (cost of living & pay vary wildly by location) the LEOs are working overtime & or 2nd jobs to live so they don't have their full wits about them. And then in the minority the cops that think they should be as safe as greeters at Walmart. So their fear level is through the roof & they kill innocents. So pay LEOs more & fire the ones who think they are working at Walmart. This & other areas: teachers, TSA, Border Agents etc. are underpaid. This is because of the immorality of further & further concentration of wealth by the top 0.1% of the population. Around the 60's in the US it was 30% owned 70%. Now it's 0.1% own 99%+.
