Hello - Is there a way I can disconnect the Ewido pop-up window that appears everytime I turn on my computer? It's nice to know I'm protected but I find the pop-up annoying. Thanks.

I'm wondering if you have read what the popup says... :ninja:

I don't think there is an Ewido pop up window that appears everytime the computer is turned on. I never have this window, and Ewido don't have a splash screen.

It's probably the balloon tip that occurs when an update is installed. Ewido jumps in and checks for an update before the system even completes boot up...which slows down a boot up because firewalls are not yet initialized, etc.

The balloon tip can be turned off on the Update window of ewido. Uncheck "Show notification when an update is automatically installed."

    Hm... Strange...o_O o_O
Even if it is the balloon notification for a completed update, I will only get this when a signature or module is being download. When no new signature or module update is available, I will get no balloons even Ewido checks for the update every 60 minutes. I have never seen such balloons on my Windows XP and Windows 2000. o_O

Yep, that is true concerning when the balloon tip is issued. I'm making an assumption that niceface doesn't leave the computer on throughout the day. So there is most likely an update waiting most of the time when the computer is rebooted. ;)

So which version are you talking about? 4.0 or 3.5?
