I figured its been a while since I tried PCT firewall, so I just installed this new version. Shortly after, I got a pop-up asking me to buy the upgrade. Is that a one time thing, or does it pop-up daily?

That's the "pctools smart alert" you can block it on the applications tab.
I'm pretty sure that stops the popup, but I've only been using it a couple days.

Thanks. I will see how often it pops-up. If it is often I will try the blocking.

The new version dramatically slows down my p2p program (PPstream). Logs show that it has blocked a lot of udp packets with the "block all other packets rule". After turning off the firewall, problem's gone.

    Uninstalled it immediately... :thumbd:

i think creating a custom rule might have solved that issue since it doesnt seem to be an incompatibility, just a rule issue.

Well,I thought it would be a little difficult to set rules for p2p software,as it was blocking random udp packets. Maybe it isn't. I was lazy to look into the details. :cautious:
