This is why I haven't used the new Outlook. They don't need to be intercepting my other email accounts. As much as the old Outlook is 25 years worth of bad code, I have no intention of using the new one unless they change how this works.

in 2015 MS aquired an android app "Acompli" which did same. MS labeled it to "Outlook" with icon. none cared when being "Acompli" but when "Outlook" because it becomes another, bigger, dimension. and now MS continued this with the new outlook which is IMO web based. not quite clever at all.

thats a different issue. and typeapp/bluemail do not send anymore that issue is rather old, ancient, fixed.

(and yes, i use typeapp and account was never broken, its the only app with free feature where i need to pay other, and it supports pop3 and not only imap)

but this is by design from first publisher and ms overtook it.

This is the reason why I have always been wary of tools like Howard E-Mail Notifier. You simply can't know if they spy on your emails and login information. But didn't expect this from MS Outlook, shouldn't this be investigated? I mean this is not a normal practice I assume?
