By coincidence, I got a new phone and airtime supplier, a PayPal account, and bought a few items of audio recording software, all in a couple of days. Within 48 hours I am getting SPAM email trying to sell me Bitcoin. I have not had a SPAM email in years, so it is beyond coincidence for me to think that some employee is not flogging email addresses for pennies. Anyway, the 'from' email address is (my email prefix)@mit.edu . Well, MIT is Massachusetts Institute of Technology, whatever that's worth; not much. for I went into cpanel for my modest hosted account and blacklisted the domain, which did no good at all. Can I locate the real origin to block it?

There is an "unsubscribe" link, but I expect that is where the hand grenade is hidden.

    Thank you.

Its where the hand grenade exists for many including myself and not just on a new wireless handset.

Others with a better grip on those matters can weigh in on your additional options to explore. But when I saw that mention I wanted to confirm. Lots of shady hides in those Unsubscribes is been my experience. On the contrary my guess is once we click to it that's when the email addy goes viral to all the waiting hungry sharks.
