macOS 12 Monterey is bricking some older Macs, so you may want to hold off on the update

Maybe I'm glad I'm running Fusion Drive with Catalina on my iMac. From what I hear Apple is having problems with performance with Fusion Drive on both Big Sur and Monterey. Catalina is running super good here. :)

I've been OK so far with my iMac and M1 MBA. Although it's shagged with Photoshop Elements on the iMac. That's nothing new though. I bet Photoshop 2022 runs well on it. It makes me wonder if Adobe do this on purpose, it's not like they hadn't enough time to make it compatible. Luckily I also have Affinity Photo which runs perfectly. It's odd that a small British company can make their software compatible with new macOS releases but Adobe seem unable to do this.

Why macOS updates might brick your Mac, and what you can do about it
Anecdotal reports suggest the Monterey update is leaving some Macs unresponsive.

Holy crap, this sound just like Windows. That's why I'm not big on updating the OS, it's sometimes a bigger risk to systems than malware.

It's a tight race with both companies. :argh:
I'll stay with Catalina, no problems so far, running fast.

It hasn't affected either of my Mac's. These sort of things should have been tested before the upgrades were released though. It's bad enough that Photoshop often breaks with macOS upgrades. I expected better from Apple. It's not like they haven't got the spondoolies.
