The Pro's setup their own sites, but obviously many elect to be hosted where either the stakes aren't too high, or more obviously the owners of the "page" don't really care about their visitors' safety. Truth be told, individuals decide to start an online "business" but lack any idea of how onion works. They just "rent" onion capabilites, and as this article reflects they rely upon others that don't really care or understand the components.

I'm wondering if this apparent vigilante-hacker has wrecked any number of lawful investigation of illegal sites - since the hosting was so easily compromised, one could expect they were already investigating. But now, with the hack and data dump, the evidential integrity of the whole thing is blown to pieces, I'd have thought.
