"A new feature on Google Maps lets you save the spot where you parked on a map, so you won’t lose your car. The feature was originally launched in beta on Android devices last month. It went live hours ago on both Andriod and iOS. Here’s how it works. If you have an Android phone, you park, tap the blue dot on the map and then hit “save your parking” to drop a pin with your location. It will be labeled “you parked here.” Added bonus: Once you do that, you can set reminders to pay a parking meter, share your car’s location, add notes and take a photo of your parking space..." https://moneyish.com/upgrade/thanks...-to-remember-where-you-parked-your-car-again/
I already use this for finding the parked car say in a big Walmart or other shopping center lot but I am always a fudge for trying out new ones. Uses GiggleEarth https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nomadrobot.mycarlocatorfree&hl=en Thanks for your linkie.
Its happened to all of us. We've parked in a crowded mall or a side street and we've lost track of where we parked our car. Now thanks to Google, we can ping it with electronic breadcrumbs we can follow back to it. No more panic over a lost car location.
Good, but it would be more useful if it worked in 3D. That is, in vertical, multi-storied parking spaces. Some malls have their own parking assistants in these cases, that work with the access card.
