The worry is that many less experienced people will assume leaktests are the be all and end all of criteria in choosing a firewall-as no information is generally available on overall quality and security.

Matousec has only fully tested a handful of firewalls and doesn't seem keen to develop this aspect.

 

Matousec has stated on their latest news posting that they are developing more tests and besides that they have already taken into account vulnerabilities in the firewalls, not just leaktesting.

It would be nice to see some network filtering test sites for firewalls though.

 

Under "News",Matousec in fact state this;

"However, leak-tests are, and will always be, tests that does not fully reflect the quality of personal firewalls. Our group provided deeper tests and reviews of some of the most popular personal firewalls and similar solutions"

That qualifier is also shown on the page most accessed -the leaktest page,but you have to look for it.

Edit;So far,I can only find 7 complete,elderly tests.(KIS won overall)

Just wondering why no tiny personal firewall or kerio personal firewall 2.1.5. Maybe the advanced winroute.

Tiny Personal Firewall is only under commercial development now by CA.
