After removing the hard drive from my old computer and trying (unsuccessfully) to find the files I needed, I thought the problem was a corrupted disk. It wasn't until after I used testdisk to rebuild the boot sector that I realized my awful mistake - the drive was encrypted, and Truecrypt was doing exactly what it was supposed to do. Now the drive is unbootable and appears as being unpartitioned. When I connect the drive to another computer, Truecrypt is unable to mount the drive (even when I try mount with pre-boot authorization). I have the Truecrypt recovery disk, but when I tried to decrypt the drive, it came to an error with just 17MB to go. So... what hope do I have of recovering the data on the drive? What are my next steps? Thanks in advance for any help.
