Nat, go to your post #21 and click on the edit button to look at the way the sentences and codes are layed out.

Then go to ronjor's post #22, using the edit button to look at the way the sentences and codes are layed out in his post.

You'll see the extra line spaces in your post compared to no line spaces in ronjors.

What you need to do when you preview your post before submitting it, is bring the sentences up together by removing those extra line spaces (like they are in ronjor's Post #22).

When using the bbc code box, there will be a line added after the final closed tag in each separate line. What you don't want is all the extra line spaces after that. The only way to avoid those extra line spaces is to remove them in your preview box. Now why you have those extra lines I'm not sure...it may be that after you do the first sentence, you are hitting the enter key before you begin the next sentence?

The other option to avoid the extra spacing is to manually type in the bbc. For example...when you are going to center the entire post, there is no need to have a closed "Center" tag after each individual line. You can begin your post with a "Center" tag....then once you are finished typing out the entire post, finish it with one closed "Center" tag. ;)

OKI snap. But there's NO EDIT button in Ron's post.
And in mine, when I click EDIT...there are NO CODES shown. :doubt:

Give me a moment and let me try what else you suggested. ;)

    Wish me LUCK ! :D

Nat, click on the edit button on your last post there and look at the placement of the last "Center" tag.

I've attached a copy of your post below.

You have the open "Center" tag in the right place - at the beginning.
But you have the closed "Center" tag added to the first sentence (see the red arrow in the image).

If you edit your post now; remove that closed "Center" tag from the first sentence, and add it at the end of the very last sentence (see the blue arrow in image), then your post should line up completely centered.

Give the edit button a try on your post. ;)

Yep, there is. Go back using the edit button, and put your cursor in the line where the space is and remove the line either with hitting the backspace button or delete button on your keyboard.

Your post #32 looks better, Nat. But I noticed you have the open & closed "Center" tags before and after each individual line. You can just place one Center tag at the very beginning of the first sentence, and a closed Center tag at the very end of the last sentence.

The same goes for the other tags also. If you are going to give the entire post the same colour, then you can begin the post with the color tag, and end the entire post with a closed color tag.

If you are going to use the bbc box where you enter the individual lines, then yes you will have a space inbetween the lines. You just have to be careful that there are not additional spaces in there. You can check that through the Preview option and if you see a space (like the one that is in the first line in your Post #38 ) then just edit out that extra line.

As you can see, my last post..too much space again.
    Don't worry..I'll keep practicing.

One thing I don't understand either:
What do you mean by "bbc" ?

And I don't see ANY codes when I EDIT my posts, snap. :doubt:

This is the box I am referring to (see attachment), that you use to put the tags around the sentence. For lack of a better description for it..lol I just refer to it as the bbc box.

It seems you are using the "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" interface type.

To be able to view the coding in your posts, you need to use the "Standard Editor" interface.

Go to your UserCP -> Edit Options -> scroll down the page until you come to Miscellaneous Options, and choose the "Standard Editor - Extra formatting controls" option. Click "Save Changes". Then you should be able to see the coding in your posts when you click on your edit button.

    Gotcha Snap ! [IMG]

No wonder I didn't know what I was doing, lol.

Anyways...if I go back to Standard Editor, won't I loose some
of the "advanced features"...whatever they may be ??

(I'll continue tomorrow, ok. Need a bit time to "play" now...been hard work I tell ya...lol)

Thanks again very, very much, for all the help. I know posting all these screenies and explaining things were a bit "nerve-pulling" for you, I can imagine. :doubt:

:) For you snap ~ [IMG]

No, not really, Nat. The WYSIWYG stands for "What You See Is What You Get", don't let the word "Enhanced" fool ya. ;) With the Standard Editor you have the extra formating controls, and that's what you need to be able to see the formating (tags) in your posts when you click on the edit button. An example of what you might see in your post above is when I went to quote part of your post, I first removed about 4 instances of the Size tags that were unnecessary since they were all size 3. I believe once you can actually view the tags in your post, you'll learn them better and how to have them placed to get the effect you're looking for in the final post.
Thank you Nat, and you are welcome. I've had a bit of a refresher course now in it myself, actually. ;)
