    These are always tough reads for me. I want PRIVACY but I don't want child molesters to get away with it! In the end I would fall on the privacy component.

    Telegram has been promoted as a secure and private messenger, but that is false. (Even long before they started sharing user data). They made many choices regarding design, features and default settings that indicate they do not care about privacy and security at all. Telegram is snake oil imho:

    Well Telegram solved this "problem" for me, I can no longer login, no SMS, no voice call, most likely because my country is banned. And buying a random phone number just to access another FB is too much of a hassle. :thumbd:
