Same for me, I ditch my desktop last year and own two laptops. No regrets so far...

I have servers, desktops and notebooks/laptops. All used or refurbished :)

    Edit: Bought anonymously, for cash.

It's simple - power users will use desktops and to some extent laptops. And then as you go down the "power" curve, the devices become more consumeristic.

Well, when it really comes down to it, well over half of PC users were hugely oversold. Because they didn't actually do much of anything with those PCs. Unless they got loaded down with malware, adware, etc -- or became a botnet slave -- their machines were for the most part idle.

One big advantage of a PC is you can attach large screens to it. Currently I have two 27" screens which make everything easier to read and reduce the need for shuffling apps. I would run three screens if I had the room. I like the portability of my laptop, but there's no way I'd want to look at one 17" screen all the time. Yes, you can drive a larger screen with a laptop, but it's not convenient unless you have a proper docking station; does anyone still offer those? :)
