    Meh. Predictable. These people profit from monetizing user data, so of course they want rights to do that.

    Notice, by the way, that Apple isn't mentioned :)

    So who's going to stop them?

    Maybe they'll come up with something about preventing terrorism, or saving children ;)

    Well, actual privacy protection would destroy their business model. And that leverages maybe a few $trillion of market cap. So I'm still dubious.
