What is Tea Timer in Spybot Search and Destroy and why would you want to use it? What will it protect you from?

Hello Beefcarver, Welcome to Wilders ! ;)

The Tea Timer protects your over-all System settings, if it runs as Resident.

Which the Resident SD Helper blocks bad downloads in Internet Explorer.

    Hope this helps. :)

Its alright, your response time is almost instant, where as I'm on post watch so my response time can be up to a few hours. Depending on which mods and admins are online.

Well it seems to be helping my firewall block the garbage. I am using it with Black Ice and had no hits or events so far today on my firewall with the tea timer running. Im not sure if its because theres less internet activity on sunday or not.

In your taskbar with the Spybot icon in there, and you right click you see
    "Resident IE", correct?
And when you follow the arrow - there are options:
    1. Use Resident in IE Sessions
    2. Display dialog when blocking

Are both ticked ?......or do you have it set to block "silently" ?

    P.S. I don't think "nasties" take sundays off. ;) :D

Yes I have them marked. It seems like I get picked on by the nasties more on the Weekdays.
