I have just got mu TDS registration Today and installed it properly

    I have a small problem

When I press F5 in TDS to come to the forums I get diverted to dcsresearch.com a known hijacker

It is not in my hosts file, it doesn't divert any searches, just diverts either the F5 or the help link to these forums

coming to the forums by my favorites link or visa TDS home page doesn't divert, which leasds me to think that TDS has been compromised somehow

    Any Ideas

    Hi,

Add this line to your HOSTS file:

    64.91.255.87 www.dcsresearch.com

That HOSTS file is a file without extension.

Indeed, in the past dcsresearch was owned by DiamondCS, but not any longer anymore.
However, it is hardcoded in TDS-3.
For that reason you might like to add that line to your HOSTS file.
Or, you could make an item in your favorites that points to the right site (forum).

No, DCS is not compromised ;)

    Cheers, Jan.

    Doesn't do, anything

I'll just have to visit the forums by using my favorites link

It woould have been easy to press F5 inside TDS when I was iusinhg it.

Just seems strange that the best trojan defence has an inbuilt divert to a CWS affiliate site

    Hi Derek,

I just tried it (pushing F5): it worked for me.
Sorry that it didn't work for you.

As for that dcsresearch-site coded in TDS-3:
I'm sure that Wayne will fix it in TDS-4 ;)

Works fine for me too; maybe it will for you after a reboot?
You did put the line in the HOSTS file and not the Hosts.sam?
Some people add an extra line
    64.91.255.87 www.diamondcs.com.au
to make really sure all goes to the right place.

As the forum software is new and there is worked on the forum, you might experience moments of no entrance btw, so don't get confused by those.

I've narrowed down the problem to my ISp DNS server caching the Ip numbers and overriding the hosts file

When I use a 127.0.0.1 Ip addy in hosts it blocks dcsresearch totally.

when I use diamonds IP addy it still diverts to dcsresearch, but when I use a different ISP dns server It will eventually divert, so I have decided to block dcsresearch completely & wait for TDS 4 to come out before using the hard coded link to visit the forums
It's just me being awkward as usual.

I normally visit these forums via my favorites link anyway

You might like to try this little forums.SS3 script; copy with that name in you TDS-3\Scripts\userSubmitted\Jooske folder (delete the .txt extension from this file which was necessary to be able to attach it here)
To run it TDS > SS3 > Load script > find the script, doubleclick on it and you should have your own forum jumps with a jukebox included.
Make sure you grab this image and put it in the same place to show in your script form.
    http://www.diamondcs.com.au/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=117&stc=1

In the script the pathname says \Scripts\Cokemachine\Forums.ss3
Which you can change to your own situation of course.
