Installed it last night in a snapshot. So far no problems. The network firewall seems to require IP addresses for the Trusted list, and still pops up to ask about accessing addresses in the Trusted list.

Good to see another vendor with their finger on the pulse. Not as many of them are quite as active as they could be and should be. Since the new SS company took over things have definately improved all round

Hi... What should one understand by "basic network firewall"? Is it equivalent to the other firewalls on the market? In what way?

Did these guys first work on HIPS and then decided they would make it a firewall also? If this is so, that would be the other way around compared to usual firewall companies... ;)

    Cheers

My question is: what's the difference b'twn Trusted & un-trusted sites? Aren't Trusted sites just one's LAN & sites added manually. Untrusted sites, the internet in general?

Downloadable from the usual location SSM Downloads Page.
It just prompts if an application tries to send network traffic. It doesn't cover incoming traffic and doesn't include filtering by port or protocol so cannot substitute for a full firewall - but it can complement an existing firewall if it lacks strong outgoing traffic control (like Windows XP SP2's firewall).

Were you using Learning Mode? If so, try disabling it - others have reported similar issues in the SysSafety Forums.
