system locks on boot

I recently installed the upgrade sent to me in email from ESET. Since that time it appears NOD32 hangs upon start up and locks up my system, forcing me to shutdown. I feel it's NOD32, because when I disable it through msconfig, everything boots up fine. My renewal it 12-11-10, so if possible I'd like to resolve this. Is there some sort of patch that can resolve this issue?

what is the version you have now? did you try removing and then reinstalling Nod?

 

What OS are you running? Do you have any other security software installed?

 

The version I have is 4.2.64.12 on XP Media Edition SP3. I haven't tried reinstalling and will now and post back after several restarts. The only other security is comodo firewall and have been for several years.

Version 4.2.67 might address the issue. Let us know if installing it helped.

 

The reinstalling seems to have helped, no lockups since. I will be renewing on the 11th, and keep you informed if I have any issues.
