Certain PC's are getting this error after logging in:

"The system has recovered from a serious error.
Please tell Microsoft about this problem."

Looking in the event viewer, under system, gives this info:

    Source: System Error
    Category: (102)
    Type: Error
    Event ID: 1003
    Description:
    Error code 1000008e, parameter1 c00000005, parameter2 a88ef8fb
    parameter3 a78c7af8, parameter4 00000000.

The PC's are all Lenovo M55 (model 8810) with Windows XP sp3. The error happens with both NOD versions 4.0.314 and 4.0.424. Uninstalling NOD32 makes the error go away. Using version 2.7 does not cause this error.

On one PC out of 5 is also having a BSOD shutting down. The error is STOP 0x0000008E in eamon.sys.

What can I do to get rid of these errors?
    Thanks,
    Doug

Uninstall NOD32, and try the newest client.. Would make sure to go through, and do the manual uninstall notes also on removing keys from the registry.

OK, did the uninstall, and followed the manual steps to remove registry keys etc. Installed using v 4.0424 which I downloaded today, and error and BSOD returns. While NOD was uninstalled, no error and no BSOD.

    What else can I try?

Unless someone else chimes in here to further investigate, v3.0.684 is always an option.

I don't see version 3 anywhere on the web site. Has anyone else got an idea what to try?

After reading other posts about trouble with the Netware Client, I spent some time working on that angle, and it has paid off. Looks like installing NW client 4.91 sp4 or 4.91 sp5 clears up this problem. No post SP patches were needed.

Thanks for the suggestions posted. A manual uninstall of 4.0424 and installing version 3.0.684 also cleared up the issue.
