system files in a image

i made an image of my drive C before I installed servive pack 2 as a backup , i deleted the partion for a clean install , it installed ok , i tried to copy some files out of the image but it is saying dir is not accesible access is denied - the dir in question is the admins dir my documents , i have used same name as password for my service pack 2 installation
any ideas apart from resrtoring the image to copy the files ?

"i deleted the partion for a clean install" - please clarify what partition you deleted.

You created a backup before inatalling SP2. Then you installed it. Is it right?

Or you created backup, then installed a fresh copy of Windows and then installed SP2.
